To swim without going back and forth in your pool, you decided to equip it with a Swimeo swim current. You made the right choice, as this installation requires little maintenance. However, it is important to pay attention to it to maintain optimal performance. Discover how to maintain your swim turbine. And for more information, read our guide on swim turbines.

How does the turbine work?

Before thinking about the maintenance of your Swimeo, it is important to know the model installed in your pool. Indeed, there are two models of Swimeo swim currents:

  • The Swimeo Model S is designed for already built and filled pools. It is easy to install, without major construction work, and remains discreet once submerged in water.
  • The Swimeo Model X integrates directly during the construction of the basin. 100% embedded behind a stylish and elegant stainless steel grid, it is almost invisible.

  • 1 turbine of 1100 W;
  • 1 electrical box to place in your pool room;
  • 1 electric cable;
  • 2 wireless remotes (optional for the built-in model);
  • 1 Bluetooth connection kit;
  • 1 smartphone app.

Few elements of this kit require maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of the entire system. It is on the turbine and more specifically on each of the parts that make it up that you should focus. You will need to periodically check the power supply box, which is installed in the technical room, without forgetting to pay attention to the motor submerged in the pool.

Unlike hydraulic turbines that require servicing every 2 years (oil change and labor) of the power supply system, electric turbines like Swimeo require no maintenance and no care. There are therefore no hidden costs or costs to expect in the future.

Maintain the submerged turbine

Regardless of the model, the counter-current turbine is positioned facing the skimmers. Very efficient in terms of energy (50 to 80% less electricity than a traditional pump for a higher flow rate), it generates a laminar flow. Thanks to this wide and horizontal current, it improves the circulation of water in the pool and completes the filtration system.

Our Swimeo models are made of non-corrosive materials. They resist the chemicals generally used for water treatment, such as salt, chlorine, algaecides, or ozone.

The Swimeo swim current is very robust and a long-lasting installation that withstands climate variations. If you do not protect your pool in winter, just remember to turn off the electricity of the turbine.

You should consider the maintenance of the turbine as that of the basin by:

  • adjusting the pH and chlorine levels of the water;
  • ensuring good circulation to prevent algae growth.

The maintenance of a swim turbine consists of some simple but essential steps. By following these points, you preserve the longevity and performance of your installation.
