Lionel Jourdan, the SWIMEO athlete
The Adventurer of Sports
Lionel Jourdan has an incredible story: the story of the Enduroman record, the ultra-trail that connects London to Paris.
Lionel Jourdan is somewhat of an Everyman: a former manager of a construction company, he’s not a professional triathlete but a man passionate about sensations, challenges, and grand adventures. In 2021, he set himself the challenge of completing the Enduroman by running 140 km from London to Dover, crossing the English Channel (35 to 65 km), and cycling 290 km from Calais to Paris… all in 49 hours and 24 minutes.
Curious and always looking for new experiences, Lionel was searching for a system to swim at home and make the most of his pool before his races.
The partnership between Lionel Jourdan and Swimeo was born from this.Swimming with Swimeo
The current versions of Swimeo S400 and X400 are designed for experienced and competitive swimmers. The S250 and X250 versions are more suited to daily use.
Lionel uses Swimeo to focus on two aspects of his training.
– Transitions between swimming and cycling: poorly prepared transitions in a triathlon can be a major source of stress, time loss, or even disqualification (e.g., forgetting the race number). Lionel can perfect this crucial phase as much as he wants.
– Mental strength: swimming in open water is mentally tougher than swimming in a pool. The goal is far away, and it’s hard to assess the distance covered and the distance remaining. It’s essential to “get in the zone” and motivate yourself without markers.
What training for a triathlon? From Adventures to Adventures
This partnership with Lionel Jourdan is above all a great adventure: following him through his races and challenges.
